Page 1 Al Jazeera Sport Smartcards Technical FAQs Q1 - What are the types of Aljazeera Smart Cards ? 1 - Al Jazeera Sport Irdeto smart Cards : Al Jazeera Sport New Irdeto Cards (V6) : Premium cards and the serial Number start with 42xxxxxxxx Al Jazeera Sport Initial Irdeto Cards (V5.X): Epsilon , Zeta and Kappa cards and the serial Number start with 41xxxxxxxx All versions of Irdeto cards V5.X should be on patch level 19 or (0013). 2 - Al Jazeera Sport Viaccess Smart cards: New Viaccess cards : PC5 and the serial Number start with 32243xxxx Initial Viaccess cards : PC4 and the serial Number start with 32241xxxx Old Viaccess PC3 (i.e. 319xxx) cards: Has been stopped since 2009. Please note; Viaccess Cards does not require any patch level update. Q2 - how to check the patch level? Press menu , Setting , system , Conditional Access , smart cards status then check for patch level : If the value of patch level == 0000 it means that the smartcard is new Irdeto card (V6) and does not need any update. If the Value of patch level < than 19 or 13 it means that this smartcard must be updated to Level 19. If the value of patch level = 19 or 13 then the card is updated and no further updates is required. - Q 3 - How to update your Irdeto Smart card to patch level 19 (13 )? Please contact Aljazeera Customer Care +974 44897111 or visit the nearest authorized dealer to your location. Please note that no update is required for all new smartcards (Premium V6 and Kappa V5.. Note * Both Irdeto and Viaccess cards should be used in a certified receivers to avoid any blackouts or performance interruption while on watching Aljazeera Sport Channels , Aljazeera Sport always recommend to use certified STBs . Page 2 Q 4 - what are the certified receivers? The certified receivers is the receiver that has been tested and certified by Al Jazeera Encryption vendor (Irdeto or Viaccess) all subscribers should check at the retail shop on the certification before buy. Q 5 - How do you know that your STB ( receiver) is certified or Not? 1. For The certified STBs (Please check Aljazeera Sport websites), and also you will find Aljazeera sport logo on the BOX. 2. For Irdeto In the receiver menu, you will find what is called Soft cell version (last version V3.10) for example t o check in HUMAX Certified Receiver 2020 or IR 2000 HD Press menu , Setting , system , Conditional Access , loader status then check for the loader version :3.10 . 3. For Viaccess In the receiver menu, you will find what is called ACS or Viaccess library Ve rsion (3.1) for example to check in Aston Certified Receiver Press menu , information , then check for the Viaccess library version : 3.1 The non - certified STBs is not at all recommended or supported by Aljazeera Sport. Page 3 Q 6 - What are the possible frequent Error messages: The receivers (STB) show a message on your TV when the satellite signal fails, or another error occurs such as . Error Message explanation of the conditions that can lead to these messages Notes E04 Please insert smart card The smartcard is not present E05 Unknown card The smartcard is faulty , or The smartcard is not an Irdeto or Viaccess one, or Is inserted in wrong way. E06 Smart card failure The smart card is not inserted in right way or The commas between the smartcard and CAM "smart card slot" has failed. The card must inserted in right position . E07 Checking smart card The smartcard has been inserted, and the receiver is verifying that it is an Irdeto Pay - Tv smartcard. The message should disappear after a few seconds. E16 Service is currently scrambled The viewer is not entitled to watch this service. Sometimes , according to move between different FTA service and scrambled, there is delay happen to verify the rights , but the card almost work after 10 - 20 sec. if not that means the smart card is not entitled with the product to watch this service. E19 Service is currently scrambled The viewer is not entitled to watch this service because the product entitlement on the smartcard has expired The Customer need to renew his Package subscriptions or try activation if the subscription still valid since the card may n ot be used since a while. E30 Service is currently scrambled This is due to a key mismatch between the Rights and the smartcard. Waiting for 20 - 30 Sec on Aljazeera service can make the smart card avoid the mismatch, or please contact Aljazeera Customer support to send the activations rights again. E34 Service is currently scrambled The STB is unable to interpret the rights as the receiver is not certified one. Sometimes it may work after 20 sec then service is working . *Some STBs shows different Error messages codes according to their SW versions. i.e. E09, E120, E101 Page 4 Q 7 – What are the receiver tuning error messages ? Error Message explanation of the conditions that can lead to these messages Notes No Signal (E48) Occurs when the front - end Receiver reports a loss of signal Loss of signal due to : 1 - Loss of the original signal from the uplink source. 2 - Loss between the IRD and RF cable. 3 - Not right tuning. E50 No xxx Services available An attempt is made to change to a service of a particular type (e.g. TV, Audio, etc.) and there are, in fact, no services of that type available in the bouquet. Searching for signal at xxx MHz (E52) Occurs when attempting to tune to a service on a transport stream that cannot be found, or if the signal drops away The following steps will occur: 1 - “No Signal” message comes up. 2 - If, after ±30 seconds, a signal has not been found, the “Searching for Signal” message will come up as the IRD cycles through transport streams in its database, attempting to establish a lock - on. Page 5 Q8 - Why Smart Cards can't be activated ( Automatically) when not used for several months? Due to an out - of - range date code difference, and the customer will need to contact the Aljazeera customer support "Aljazeera Call Center or Self - service” or nearest authorized dealer in order to send the recover right date code of smart card . then the card s hould work normally. Q 9 - How to Watch US? The following bullet points are the most common items to be checked before concluding which part has a fault: If the receiver has been switched off for sometime? It is possible for the smart card to miss the regular updates . During that time. In this case, the smart cards normally recover after a little while. Is the receiver passed a DVT (Certified or not) ? Please see the above question about the certified receivers . Check the receiver hardware make and model, from the CA - status screen Check the receiver software version, from the CA - status screen Check whether there is an over - the - air decoder software upgrade playing .(almost all the STBs have check for updates in the menu sett ing) A failure of an upgrade or new code can introduce problems.
